BDE001 - Boogie Down Edits - Vol 1 - De La House
LA re-edit crew Boogie Down Edits make their debut with a set of De La Soul reworks, re-inventing some of the group's best-loved hip-hop cuts as party-starting house jams. They've kept many of the key musical ingredients of the source material, subtly shifting the grooves to aid slick mixing and peak-time joy. "Saturday" kicks off with loose-limbed hip-house punchiness, "Me Myself And I" moves into a more jackin', bumpy groove, "Buddy" is a bass-heavy hip-house style rework, and "Say No Go" rounds off the package with a housed-up, groovy, vocoder-laden version. Limited vinyl pressing.
